An iconic Czech opera in a unique concert performance, featuring Kateřina Kněžíková, Adam Plachetka, and the National Theatre Orchestra and Chorus.
The Bartered Bride will be presented in a shortened arrangement, tailor-made for the Liteň Chateau grounds. The National Theatre Orchestra and Chorus will share the stage with leading figures of the contemporary opera scene.

A Unique Open-Air Experience
Enjoy the most famous arias from The Bartered Bride in a compact, 90-minute performance. This open-air concert offers world-class musical preparation within the relaxed atmosphere of an outdoor venue, set against the stunning backdrop of Baroque chateau buildings.
This exceptional evening under the stars will be enhanced by Michal Caban’s videomapping, which will illuminate the historic courtyard of Liteň Chateau and underscore the festive nature of the occasion.
Celebrating 160 Years of a Masterpiece
The project marks the 15th anniversary of the Jarmila Novotná Festival and commemorates 160 years since the premiere of The Bartered Bride, which first took place on May 30, 1866, at the Provisional Theatre in Prague.
“The reason we chose this opera is that it accompanied Jarmila Novotná throughout her entire life. She debuted with it at the National Theatre and performed it in Germany, Vienna, and at the Metropolitan Opera in New York. It was one of her most beloved roles,” says Ivana Leidlová, Director of the Jarmila Novotná Festival.
